Terms of Service
Effective: May 6, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding legal agreement between you and Sit App LLC ("Sit," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Sit mobile application or website at sit-app.net (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
In the event of any conflict between the English and French versions of these Terms, the English version shall prevail.
1. About Sit
Sit is a marketplace that connects pet owners ("Owners") with independent pet sitters ("Sitters") in Morocco. Sit is not a pet care provider. Sitters are independent individuals, not employees or agents of Sit. We do not direct, supervise, or control how Sitters provide their services.
We make no representations or warranties about the quality, safety, or suitability of any Sitter or Owner on the platform. You are solely responsible for evaluating the people you interact with and the decisions you make.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You may not create more than one account, impersonate another person, or allow anyone else to use your account. You agree to notify us immediately at support@sit-app.net if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or harmful conduct, or if it is necessary to protect the platform or its users.
4. Bookings
Owners can request bookings with Sitters through the Service. A booking is confirmed once the Sitter accepts and the Owner completes payment. Both parties are bound by the terms of the confirmed booking.
Sit facilitates the transaction between Owners and Sitters. The actual pet care service is provided by the Sitter, not by Sit. All transactions are between Owners and Sitters.
Sitters are solely responsible for deciding whether to accept a booking request. Sitters may decline any request for any reason.
5. Fees and Payments
Sit charges an 18% platform fee on the total booking amount. This fee is calculated when the Sitter accepts the booking and is collected at checkout.
Payments are processed by Stripe. By using the Service, you agree to Stripe's terms and any fees charged by Stripe for payment processing. See Stripe's Terms.
You agree to pay all fees as displayed at checkout. All amounts are displayed in the applicable local currency.
6. Payouts and Refunds
Sitter payouts:
After a booking is completed, a 24-hour dispute window applies before a payout is initiated. Payouts are then submitted to our team for manual processing and may take up to 10 business days to complete. Payouts are processed via Payoneer, bank transfer (Wise / Remitly), or cash pickup (CashPlus / Wafacash), depending on the Sitter's selected method.
A transfer fee of 4% will be deducted from each payout to cover international transfer costs and service fees.
Sitters bear all costs associated with payout transfers, including transaction fees, currency conversion fees between USD and their local currency, and any fees charged by Payoneer, Wise, Remitly, CashPlus, or Wafacash. By selecting a payout method, you agree to the fees of the applicable provider.
Owner refunds:
Owners are entitled to a full refund if a booking is cancelled before it begins. Cancellation after the booking has started is not eligible for a refund. These terms may change in the future, and any changes will be communicated in advance.
Sitter cancellations:
There is currently no penalty fee for Sitters who cancel a booking. This may change in the future, and any changes will be communicated in advance.
7. Taxes
You are solely responsible for determining and paying any taxes applicable to your use of the Service, including income tax, VAT, or any other taxes required by the laws of your country. Sit does not provide tax advice, tax documentation, or tax reporting on your behalf. We are not responsible for any tax obligations that arise from your use of the platform.
8. Disputes Between Users
If a dispute arises between an Owner and a Sitter, you may file a dispute through the app within 24 hours of the booking end date. Our team will review the dispute and attempt to reach a fair resolution. Possible outcomes include releasing the payout to the Sitter, refunding the Owner, or no payout.
For disputes that cannot be resolved through the platform, you agree to seek resolution through the appropriate legal authorities in your country. Sit is not a party to disputes between users and has no obligation to mediate or resolve them beyond the process described above.
9. Abandoned Pets
Sit is not responsible for pets left behind or abandoned by owners at a sitter's location. If an owner fails to retrieve their pet at the end of a booking and cannot be reached, the sitter is responsible for taking reasonable steps to ensure the pet's safety, including contacting local animal shelters or animal control authorities if necessary.
Sit will make reasonable efforts to assist in contacting the owner but assumes no liability for costs, damages, or outcomes arising from an abandoned pet situation. If the owner later returns to claim the pet, Sit bears no responsibility for any arrangements, disputes, or costs incurred during the period of abandonment.
By using the Sit platform, both owners and sitters acknowledge this policy and agree that Sit's role is limited to facilitating connections between parties and does not extend to liability for the physical care or custody of animals.
10. Limitation of Liability
No insurance:
Sit does not provide pet insurance, liability insurance, or any form of coverage for incidents that occur during or in connection with a booking. We are not responsible for any costs, damages, or losses of any kind, even if they occur during an active booking.
Pet safety:
Sit is not responsible if your pet is injured, becomes ill, goes missing, or dies during a booking. Pet owners use the Service and entrust their pets to Sitters entirely at their own risk.
User communications:
Sit is not responsible for any information you share with other users, whether through the app's messaging feature or outside of it. If sharing personal information leads to any harm, loss, or other consequence, that is entirely your responsibility.
Data:
While we take reasonable security measures, Sit is not liable for any unauthorized access to or leakage of your data. You use the Service at your own risk.
General:
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sit's total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Sit in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
11. No Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not endorse or guarantee any Sitter or Owner on the platform.
12. Your Content
By posting photos, reviews, messages, or other content on the Service, you grant Sit a non-exclusive license to use, display, and reproduce that content in connection with operating and promoting the Service. You are solely responsible for the content you post and represent that you have the right to share it.
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful, misleading, or inappropriate.
13. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Provide false information in your profile or registration
- Create multiple accounts
- Solicit other users to transact outside of the platform
- Post content that is objectionable, abusive, defamatory, or violates the rights of others
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm other users
You may report objectionable content or abusive users through the app.
Sit reviews all reports and may suspend or remove users who violate these Terms.
14. Communications as Evidence
Any agreement, commitment, confirmation, or statement made by a user in any communication with Sit — including emails sent to or from any Sit email address (such as support@sit-app.net or noreply@sit-app.net) — may be retained by Sit and used as evidence in the event of a dispute, claim, or legal proceeding. By communicating with Sit, you acknowledge that such communications may be relied upon to establish the facts of any matter involving your use of the Service.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where you reside. Any disputes arising from these Terms that cannot be resolved through the platform shall be submitted to the competent courts of your country.
16. Force Majeure
Sit shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of God, war, terrorism, pandemic, strikes, or government actions.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
